ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is embroiled in a legal dispute with Disney and the Motion Picture Association over allegations of intellectual property infringement. The controversy stems from Seedance 2.0, ByteDance's AI video-generation tool, which allegedly allows users to create videos featuring copyrighted characters without authorization.

Disney has accused ByteDance of a 'virtual smash-and-grab' of its IP, claiming the AI tool comes preloaded with pirated character libraries. Social media platforms are already flooded with AI-generated clips depicting popular movie scenes, raising questions about the ethical use of generative AI in content creation.
